THE UNTOLD STORY GETS THE 2005 BEST SPORTS DOCUMENTARY AWARD FROM THE NEW YORK FILM FESTIVAL




 


Today, the New York International Film and Video Festival announced it’s 2005 winners from last Novembers International Film Festival in New York City, and they have selected NWF Kids Pro Wrestling – The Untold Story to receive the 2005 BEST SPORTS DOCUMENTARY AWARD. 


"This is quite an honor for us and shows the quality of the product in our story." said producer Shawn Crossen regarding the announcement  The competition was tight as over 300 films were screened in the festival, and other good documentaries were also in the running for this specific award.  Films such as The SuperFight: Ali vs. Marciano (Documentary featuring boxing legend Muhammad Ali), 17 Mayis (Documentary on Galatasaray’s quest to win the UEFA Cup in 2000), Mia Killer Bee (Documentary on a 4-year-old girl boxer), and Terra Firma: Evolution of Downhill Mountain Biking (Documentary on Downhill Mountain Biking with some of the sports top spokespersons).


"We take great pride in winning this award" said Chuck Lane who plans to join Crossen in taking the film to other upcoming film festivals in 2006.
