”KIDS PRO WRESTLING” GOES HOLLYWOOD

Monday, March 13th, 2006 - On Saturday, March 11th, 2006, the award-winning documentary “NWF Kids Pro Wrestling - The Untold Story” made its Los Angeles debut at Laemmle Fairfax Theaters in Hollywood winning the 2006 ScreenCraft Award for “Best Documentary”. The LA screening of the film was well receipted by the crowd on hand during its west coast premiere on Saturday March 11th, 2006 as part of the Los Angeles International Independent Film and Video Festival. The NWF founders and creators Shawn Crossen and Chuck Lane, were both on hand for the screening in Los Angeles.

In addition to the film screening and award on Saturday night, both Crossen and Lane met with several major film distributors, producers and production studios in Hollywood regarding their film and story. After meeting with several distributors, two offers have been presented to Crossen and Lane from ITN Distribution and Film Artists Network to represent their film for distribution in both domestic and international markets. “We expect to see the final contract offers from both distributors later this week.” said Lane. Crossen and Lane will review both offers with legal advice and a final decision will then be made.

Crossen and Lane also met with Nash Entertainment and Warner Brothers regarding the development of their story into a full-featured film. “The story has a lot of potential.,” said Robert Kosberg of Nash Entertainment. “I've always believed it could make a great film”. Kosberg, who has produced successful films such as “Twelve Monkeys”, will be pitching the story to several key partners he has in Hollywood to gain interest in a possible film. Crossen and Lane were also invited on the Warner Bothers Studio Lot to meet with Sam Alexander regarding the treatment and development of their story. “We all agreed that our story is best suited as a family made for TV movie” said Lane. Both Lane and Crossen are very impressed with the direction that Warner Brothers wants to take. “There's certainly a demand for male orientated movies involving teens right now” said Alexander. Crossen and Lane will continue to work with Alexander to develop a treatment that will then be pitched to Warner Brothers executives.

“This will not affect our current relationship with HBO” said Crossen. “These are two entirely different projects,” he said. Where since last November, Sheila Nevins of HBO Documentaries has been reviewing “The Untold Story” film for possible acquisition on the cable network. These new film treatments with Nash Entertainment and Warner Brothers are different projects that relate to creating a theatrical story of kids pro wrestling which is separate from the documentary that has already been produced.

In addition to the latest ScreenCraft Award, the DVD has also been nominated for The 2006 Telly Award, The 2006 Accolade Award and The 2006 Aegis Award. The DVD release of “NWF Kids Pro Wrestling - The Untold Story” is currently distributed by Baker & Taylor, Ingram Entertainment and Navarre. You can purchase the DVD on Amazon.com as well as retail locations in 46 states in stores such as FYE (For Your Entertainment), Wherehouse Music, Saturday Matinee, and more.
