Fabulous One Peterson

Brian Peterson joined the NWF back in late 1984 making his debut on our special 25th anniversary show on November 8th, 1984. Petersons style was an instant heel, and he joined up with the likes of Jackknife Jacob instantly during his debut.

He added fuel to the fire as a partner of Jackknife Jacob and being the newest member of "The Jacob Family". In late 1984, "The Jacob Family" consisted of Killer Kampa, Bruiser Bradhoft, Brian Peterson, and of coarse, their fearless leader Jackknife Jacob.

Peterson developed quick feuds with the like of Crusher Crossen, Merciless Mike, Mad Man Nash and Kid USA Kelsey. Peterson was a pretty big kid for his age, so he handled himself just fine in the ring.

Peterson was often referred to as Jackknife Jacob’s protégée, because when they were on camera, they were so similar in styles, especially on the microphone during interviews. But where Rob Jacob basically acted out his character and was generally a pretty decent guy off camera, Brian Peterson was just being himself, whether on camera or not. He was what you would call a "natural heel" in that his personality was very difficult to deal with on both a working and personal basis.

Brian Peterson would eventually take control of The Jacob Family after Rob left the league at the end of 1984. Brians style in the ring was always kind of rough, and in March of 1985, during a match with Merciless Mike, Brian gave Mike a concussion by way of a nasty chair shot to the head, Due to the severity of this incident, a new rule was put in that any wrestler who used a chair in a match again would be suspended from the league.

In 1985, Peterson had some classic matches with Mr. X, Kid USA Kelsey, Todd The Bodd, and Corporal Clauson. In the summer of 1985, Peterson along with Crossen and Kelsey captured the 6-Man Tag Team Championship, it was the one time that Peterson was actually a babyface, and it was short lived.

Peterson would get suspended from the NWF at the end of 1985, but would return on October 18th, 1986 to sub in for Chris Barger of The Rack-n-Roll Express during a title bout the Anoka Armory.

Brian Peterson’s style as a heel was one of the best the NWF had ever seen, and he was one of the best "bad guys" that the league ever had.
