Team Champs, Killer Kampa

royal from early 1984.

Charley Lane is one half founders of the NWF league with his good friend Shawn Crossen. And as a result, he became one half of the NWF World Tag Team champions with his partner Todd The Killer Kampa. Lane had several matches against Tuffer Daniels, Crusher Crossen, and Matt Denny in the early days.

After losing the tag titles to The Destruction Masters in early 1984, Lane went on to become the PWA Champion, PWA standing for the Pacific Wrestling Association. Lane defended the title against the likes of Merciless Mike, Fabulous Fischer, and Jackknife Jacob. Lane also teamed up with Jeff Ortel and called themselves "The Luxury Brothers" in the summer of 1984.

Lane would abandon his PWA belt when he was forced to quit the league in the Fall of 1984 because of his family having to move to Omaha, Nebraska. However, this would not be the last time we would see Luxury Lane in the NWF.

In early 1985, Luxury Lane made a surprise appearance on Show #35 and was featured in a NWF World Title bout with champion Ace Andrew Karlson. Also on that show, Luxury Lane won the Main Event Battle Royal.

In the summer of 1985, Lane once again made a surprise appearance on Show #38 and defeated Superfly Rich Walker. Also, he had a tag team bout against his bitter enemy Ace Andrew Karlson.

In the fall of 1985, Lane made his final appearance and wrestled newcomer Jungle Man Josh to a draw. Although Lane was scheduled to appear on the Summer Card at the Anoka Armory in 1986 to go against Pretty Boy Taylor, travel problems prevented him from making that date.

Luxury Lane will always be remembered for his flamboyant personality he had during his interviews. Lane was often compared to Jesse The Body Ventura because he acted like him so much. The NWF would have not been the same without the unique and charismatic Charley "Luxury" Lane.
