Todd Kampa

Anoka, MN

NWF Years: 1984 - 1985

NWF World Tag Team Champion (3 times), NWF World Champion.

Todd Kampa was a good friend of Charley’s who lived close by and was one of the initial members of the NWF. In the ring, Kampa went by the name of Todd The Killer Kampa.

Right off the bat, he was the tag team partner of Luxury Lane and the one half of the first ever NWF World Tag Team Champions. Kampa and Lane would lose those titles on Show #4 to The Destruction Masters (Ackerman/Warner).

Then in the summer of 1984, Kampa would defeater Crusher Crossen to become the NWF World Champion, only to lose it back to him in just over a month later.

Kampa would again hold the World Tag Team belts with his new partner Mad Man Nash who broke off his current Tag Team with Merciless Mike Ackerman early on in 1985 and picked Kampa to replace him. They would lose those titles to the team of Crossen and Kelsey a few months later.

Kampa would once again find himself as Tag Team Champ when his old enemy Crusher Crossen surprised everyone and picked him to replace Kelsey as his partner in late 1985. But by the end of the year, they would lose those titles to the team of The Ring Warriors (Roberts/Chester).

Kampa spent most of his time in the NWF during his early years from March of 1984 through the sping of 1985, when Kampa was issued a suspension. Later that year, Kampa returned in the fall of 1985 and wrestled through the end of the year, and once again found himself suspended at the start of 1986, this was the last time Kampa would appear in the NWF.

Kampa was a founding member of "The Jacob Family" back in 1984, and through his career, he had countless matches against long time rivalry Crusher Crossen. Merciless Mike, Kid Kelsey, and Superfly Rich Walker were just a few of the others that Kampa faced regularly in the ring.

Kampa’s style was a lot like "Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorf". The NWF will never forget some of the great matches he had, especially with Crossen. The league would not have been the same without Kampa’s present. His character was original and true to form, and unmatched by no one.
