Rob Jacob entered the NWF on Show # 3 as an announcer. But after 3 shows, he decided he wanted to become a wrestler as well, thus was born Jackknife Jacob.
Arguably one of the greatest heels in NWF history, Rob’s Jackknife character was a significant part of the beginning of NWF Wrestling. Rob helped create the feud with Crossen and Ackerman that seemed to last the entire year of 1984.
In August of 1984, Rob Jacob would defeat Merciless Mike for the NWF World Title, only to lose it to Crusher Crossen a few weeks later. The biggest shocker was when Rob conned Mike to jump ship and join The Jacob Family and team up with him and win the tag team championships. But the joke was on Jacob when Mike left him to fend for himself in the middle of a title match where Rob ended up losing the belts to Nash and Petersen.
Rob’s greatest asset was his interviewing ability. Everybody just loved to hate this guy, as he was very good at stirring things up on the microphone. Rob was never at a loss for words during his interviews and often left others not knowing what to say back to him.
