Chris the Tuffer Daniels was one of the very first wrestlers to join the NWF back in March of 1984. Chris Daniels was a friend and neighbor of Shawn Crossen off camera, but when the bell rang, it was everyone for himself as Daniels had several matches against Crossen for the then Kids Quad Cities Championship belt.
Daniels never one any title bouts, but his countless battles with Crossen and Lane were legendary. Tuffer even took on both Crossen and Lane at the same time, although he lost that match in the end.
After only five shows, Tuffer left the wrestling show as he lost interest in it, but it was not the last time the NWF seen Chris the Tuffer Daniels.
In April of 1985, after months of negations with Crossen, Daniels agreed to return to the NWF once again and had a classic match against then newcomer, Mr. X. During that match, it appeared that Mr. X gained a quick victory with a pinfall in record time, but ringside officials quickly revered the decision stating Tuffers shoulder was up. Tuffer then went on to win the match in a somewhat controversial decision from referee Adam Nash.
Although Tuffers return to the NWF was successful, he did not follow through with any further commitments, and this was the last time the NWF seen Chis Daniels in the ring.
Although he did not have a huge impact on the league, Tuffer’s involvement will certainly be remembered and never forgotten. He was a very entertaining wrestler on the show.
