NWF Years: 1985
No titles held.
Brian Balabon joined was recruited into the NWF by Andrew Karlsen in March of 1985 where he wrestled under the name "Badstreet Balabon". Originally, he was planned to be Ace’s new tag team partner. His first match was against veteran Mad Man Nash.
Brian would not show up again until sometime in May of 1985 on Show #42 where he had a match against Kid USA Kelsey as well as teaming up with Ace and Meciless in a 6-Man tag team match against the champions Crossen, Kelsey and Peterson.
In June on 1985, Badstreet Balabon was involved in a special handicap match with his partners Electrifying Eric and The Bunes Brothers all against one man, Crusher Crossen. Although Crossen put up a good fight, the four of them would prevail in this encounter.
After this, Brian would retire his Badstreet Balabon character from the NWF although he would remain active with the league as an announcer and match commentator through the rest of the year and into 1986.
Because of Balabon’s small size for his age, he was always a borderline between the heavyweight and lightweight divisions. So in some cases he would have lightweight matches, in other cases he was a heavyweight.
Although Brian Balabon is most known for his excellent announcing capabilities in the NWF, you cannot forget the Badstreet Balabon character he portrayed throughout 1985.
