Adam Nash

Honolulu, HI (Anoka, MN)

NWF Years: 1984 - 1985

NWF Lightweight Championship.

Adam Nash came into the NWF in the summer of 1984 shortly after his older brother Derek had joined. Adam wanted to call himself, The Dynamite Dude. Adam was the first ever lightweight wrestler in the NWF, so he became the NWF Lightweight Champion.

Because there were very few wrestlers in the lightweight division in the early days, Adam found himself in matches against the bigger kids such as Crusher Crossen, Killer Kampa and Merciless Mike. Adam actually handled himself very well being the smaller kid.

Adam became very talented in the ring with his moves, and he was one of the more flamboyant kids at the microphone during interviews, that was for sure.

In the early days, Adam had several matches with Furious Fritz and Andy The Ripper. In February of 1985, Adam went against the heavyweight champion at the time, Ace, where Adam gave the champ a pretty good run for his money as he nearly defeated him.

In March of 1986, Adam teamed up with newcomer Ryan Kelsey (Rough Ryan) and they went on to have several battles with The Super Ds. In April, Adam defended his title against newcomer Bunes Beefcake successfully. Later that month, the Adam and Ryan parted their tag team and went on to have several matches against each other.

In August of 1985, during a title match with Rough Ryan, The Dynamite Dude came very close to seriously hurting Ryan with a submission hold, the camel clutch. It was a close call, but Ryan Was ok. However, Adam felt totally responsible for the incident thinking that he could have hurt Ryan. And with that, Adam retired from the show.

Adam Nash’s Dynamite Dude character will always be remembered as one of the greatest lightweight wrestlers that the NWF had ever seen.
